Part of the ginger family, shell ginger (named for its beautiful pink shell-shaped flowers) grows in abundance in Okinawa. When steeped, the tea has a beautiful golden brown color with floral, clove-like undertones. The subtle spicy ginger aftertaste of the tea pairs perfectly with sweets!
