Considered by honey producers in Japan to be somewhat rare, this special mikan orange honey is carefully crafted to achieve the best possible taste. Made by situating beehives under blossoming mikan orange trees, the honey is harvested during a short two to three-week time frame in May, with beekeepers carefully calculating when it will be at peak flavor. The resulting honey has a soft citrus aroma and luxurious mouthfeel with a rich sweetness and crisp, refreshing notes of mikan.
