RECIPE: Furikake & Herb Pan-Fried Potatoes

RECIPE: Furikake & Herb Pan-Fried Potatoes

Furikake adds the perfect flavor profile to potatoes, turning them into a delicious go-to side dish to suit any meal. With a crispy exterior and soft, creamy texture inside, these Furikake & Herb Pan-Fried potatoes can be served with everything from roast chicken to omelets.

Servings: 2

 Ingredients:

 ● 250g potatoes (~ 1 large potato), cut into bite-sized pieces

● 2 tsp vegetable oil

● 1 clove of garlic, minced

● 5 fresh herbs of choice (~1-2 Tbsp chopped) (Eg. dill, parsley, sage, chives, rosemary, etc.)

● Salt and pepper, to taste

● Furikake seasoning, to taste (try with our Katsuo Furikake (Fish Flake Seasoning) or your favorite furikake)

 Instructions:

1. Boil the potatoes until just tender (~5-10 mins depending on size) and drain them. Let the potatoes sit for a few minutes to release steam before sautéing.

2. Add oil to a frying pan and sauté the boiled potatoes with salt, pepper, and garlic. Add your favorite herbs once the potatoes begin to crisp to avoid burning them.

3. Sprinkle with furikake seasoning and toss to coat. Enjoy as a side dish with dishes such as roast chicken, hamburgers, or steak. You can also serve them alongside eggs and other breakfast staples for a flavorful hash brown alternative!
