  • 1 min read

You may have come across amazake (a low/non-alcohol sweet sake) on your travels to Japan, especially if you’ve visited during New Year's. Often served in small paper cups at shrines during the cold new years period, amazake has a mild, sweet smell and taste.

This refreshing sparkling amazake has a hint of salt and citrus making it the perfect drink on a hot summer's day.

  • 100ml amazake (cold)
  • 100ml sparkling water
  • ½ Tbsp lemon (or any citrus) juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice (optional)

  1. Mix ingredients and add ice if desired.
