RECIPE: Chicken Cheese Toast with Shichimi Paste

RECIPE: Chicken Cheese Toast with Shichimi Paste

Even if you’re short on time, you can still enjoy a rich, protein-packed snack or quick lunch! Made with premium shichimi (seven spice) paste, this savory chicken is flavored with a complex blend of spice, salt, umami, and citrus flavors and topped with melted cheese. You can also serve this shichimi flavored chicken over French bread or crackers instead of toast for an easy-to-share snack.

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken tenderloin

  • ½ tsp cooking sake

  • 1 piece of toast (or crackers or French bread)

  • Shredded cheese, to taste

  • ½ tsp Premium Shichimi (Seven Spice) Paste

  • 2 tsp mayonnaise

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oven to 475℉ (250℃).

  2. Place the chicken tenderloin in a heat-resistant dish and pour the sake over it.

  3. Wrap loosely with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 3 mins. (Alternatively, you can steam or boil until the chicken is cooked through.)

  4. Let the chicken cool and pat dry with kitchen paper.

  5. Tear the chicken tenderloin into bite-sized pieces, removing the tendons.

  6. Mix the shichimi paste and mayonnaise together and spread over the chicken.

  7. Place the chicken on the toast and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

  8. Bake for ¾ min.

  9. Once the cheese is melted, it's ready.
