A flavorful broth is the secret to any delicious soup. The extra special ingredients used to make this dashi (broth) ensure you will have a hot pot (soup) with luxurious, deep flavor. Made without chemical seasonings, this broth results from the exquisite combination of ingredients from the region of Kyushu inclduing grilled flying fish, shiitake mushrooms, dried bonito flakes, and dried shrimp.

Ingredients: Soy sauce (domestic), mirin, sugar, grilled flying fish, dried bonito flakes, seafood extract, salt, dried shrimp, dried shiitake mushrooms, alcohol (includes wheat and soybeans)

Suggested Uses: To make a hot pot, add two packages of the hot pot soup to 400ml of water. Bring to a simmer. Add your favorite ingredients such as meat, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, and tofu, and continue to simmer until they’re fully cooked. You can then also add noodles such as udon or cooked rice. Serves 2. The warmed dashi can also be used as a soup base or poured over cooked rice to make ochazuke.
Substitutions: The next time you plan on making a stir-fry, try this dish instead. The ingredients used in many stir-fries could easily be used to make this hot pot.
