Konbu cha (lit. “kelp tea”) is a Japanese seasoning that can be mixed with hot water to create a savory tea or broth.This konbu cha is made from additive-free ingredients produced entirely in Japan; the kelp and beet sugar come from Hokkaido, while the specialty salt is produced in Hyogo Prefecture’s Ako City. Top-quality matcha powder is also added, resulting in an umami-rich, bitter yet salty and sweet seasoning.

Suggested Uses: Dissolve 1 tsp of konbu cha powder in 150ml of hot water and adjust to desired strength. Can also be added to ochazuke (tea over rice) or used to season meat, vegetables, noodles, tempura, pastas and more! For quick and easy tsukemono (Japanese pickled vegetables) mix thinly sliced cucumbers with konbu cha and a dash of salt.
Substitutions: Use in place of furikake and sprinkle over rice and noodles for extra umami.
