Developed through nearly a decade of trial and error, Nagaike Konbufs Ume Konbu Cha is made using ingredients produced entirely in Japan. The kelp and beet sugar come from Hokkaido, while the special salt is produced in Hyogo Prefecturefs Ako City and is one of Japanfs most highly-regarded salts. Other flavors include aromatic herbal notes from shiso (Japanese basil) and a sour fruitiness from dried ume flakes made from plums produced in Wakayama Prefecture.

Suggested Uses: To drink as a broth, dissolve 1 tsp of powder into 150ml (~? cups) of hot water (or adjust to your preferred strength). Can also be used to make ochazuke (tea over rice) by sprinkling on a bowl of rice before pouring hot tea or water over top. Use as a seasoning by sprinkling on meat or vegetables before cooking, on chicken before breading and frying to make karaage (fried chicken), for tempura, or added to pasta, eggs, or soup. Mix with thinly sliced cucumbers and a dash of salt to make tsukemono (pickled vegetables).
Substitutions: Use in place of furikake and sprinkle over rice and noodles for extra umami. Can also be used in place of seasoning salt when making stir-fries or noodle dishes.
