Yokan, a firm jelly dessert, is one of Japan’s most popular types of wagashi (Japanese sweets). This bite-sized yokan is made in a local tea shop in Kyoto using only the finest ingredients. The matcha is a luxurious blend of organic Uji matcha grown in Wazuka-cho, Kyoto, a region famous for its green tea. Beet sugar from Hokkaido is also used given its mellow sweetness that brings out the astringent, bitter flavors and aroma of the matcha.
