These rice crackers are known as “kaki no tane” given their distinctive shape which is reminiscent of persimmon (“kaki” in Japanese) seed. Made from 100% domestic glutinous rice, in-house craftsmen shape and flavor this cracker mix as: plain, soy sauce, smoked cheese, and spicy chili pepper.
Osamado’s main store opened in 1924 and their craftsmen have been honing their rice cracker skills ever since. They create products made without chemical seasonings, offer vegetarian and vegan-friendly items, and even became the first halal-certified rice confectionery in Japan.
Suggested uses: Enjoy as is or pair with green tea, beer, or other alcoholic beverages. Try adding peanuts for added flavor and texture.
