Just one drop of this premium-quality soy sauce will instantly add umami to your dishes. Unlike your typical soy sauce, this shoyu has a depth of flavor that is not overly salty and has a mellow yet savory finish.
In its 8th generation, Marunaka Shoyu is one of the few remaining soy sauce brewers in Japan still using traditional practices to create their soy sauce. This family-owned business uses 200 year old methods and equipment, and its brewing facility has been recognized by the Japanese government as a National Tangible Cultural Property.
The production of each bottle of Marunaka Shoyu’s soy sauce is a methodical process with master brewers tending to the ingredients twice daily for three years. The result is an exceptional soy sauce which is unlike any other. Savor each drop like you would fine wine!
Suggested uses:A drop of this special soy sauce truly goes a long way in adding flavor to your dishes. Use it on its own to add a touch of umami to any dish or combine it with Shio Koji, Pure Rice Vinegar and Yuzu Miso (all available in our Creative Beginnings: Redefining "Wa" Care Package of Japanese cooking essentials) to make a homemade dressing or BBQ sauce.
Recipes:
Gyoza (Japanese Pan-Fried Potstickers)
Cold Tsuyu Dipping Sauce for Noodles
